Former President Donald Trump denied ever plotting a coup and launched an attack on Gen. Mark Milley on Thursday, saying that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff would be the last person he would ever want as part of a takeover plot.
His angry response comes amid a slew of new books offering unflattering views of Trump's final days in office. In 'I Alone Can Fix It,' Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker write that Milley feared a desperate Trump would try to stage a coup to stay in power.
